Captain John Lyndon Kidder, USNR (Ret)

Died in Allegheny General Hospital, surrounded by his family, on February 14, 2018. He was 73. John was born in Dearborn, Michigan, on March 18, 1944. He met his wife, Jeanne Kidder, while attending the University of Maryland. He was an accomplished Naval Flight Officer, serving as a Bombardier Navigator in the A-6 Intruder. He left active duty in 1982, and retired from the Reserve as a Captain in 1995. He led a productive civilian career in business development for the defense industry, as well as consulting, before retiring in 2014. Mr. Kidder's joy was in his family, his hobbies, and Boblo Island, where he spent his summers as a youth with his family, and later as a father with his kids. John Kidder is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his children, Christian, Jaimee, Abby, Benjamin, and Maliek; his mother, Marilyn; two grandchildren, and five siblings. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Chapel, 2240 Noblestown Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
