Jack Wilbur Hanselman

Age 90, of Emsworth, passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease on April 22, 2017. Jack was the beloved husband for nearly 69 years of Gloria (Ellenberger) Hanselman; loving father of Bonnie (Frank) Glazer, Sherri (Greg) Conner and Jack (Jani) Hanselman, proud grandfather of Frank (Andrea) Glazer of New York City, Ryan Hanselman of Cleveland, Marty Mazie of Emsworth and Katie (Brian) Gillum of Cleveland, as well as four great grandchildren; Oliver Mazie, Aydan and Ethan Gillum and Greta Glazer. Born on the North Side of Pittsburgh, Deutschtown, Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Violet and Andrew, his sister Norma Ostronic, brother Roy, and survived by sisters Gloria Stern and Nancy Stanger. He is also survived by loving brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rose and Jim Ellenberger. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Korea, retired from the optical business and kindly drove a school bus for ten years for the Avonworth School District. He had a strong love of family and was known for telling long funny stories. He was a member of Christ Church at Grove Farm. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Allegheny Health Network Hospice for their exceptional compassionate care as well as the Bellevue office of Home Instead. Friends will be received on Tuesday, April 25, 2016 from 1 until 8 p.m. at the McDonald-Linn Funeral & Cremation Service, LLC., 529 California Ave. Pittsburgh, PA  15202. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Christ Church at Grove Farm, 249 Duff Rd. Sewickley, PA 15143. Everyone please meet at church. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association: Greater Pennsylvania Chapter-Pittsburgh Office.
