David L.
Age 87, of Kilbuck Township, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019, peacefully, a victim of Parkinson’s Disease, which he fought until the end. He was born February 12, 1931 in Vandergrift, PA, son of the late Raymond and Hulda Blackson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ray and John Blackson. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lois (Stewart) Blackson. Father of Charles (Beverly), Lisa, and Christopher Blackson; grandfather of Rachell (Kyle) Blackson-McDermott, David (Audra) Blackson, Benjamin Blackson, Meghan Blackson, Alexander Blackson and Jacob Blackson; step-grandfather of Bridget (Jeff) Baker; also survived by 6 great-grandchildren; brother of Diane (Don) Dezzutti. David served for 4 years in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. David was an engineering graduate from the University of Pittsburgh and was a Vice-President of Elwin G. Smith Company located at the time in Emsworth, PA. He was an avid golfer and longtime member of Shannopin Country Club. He also liked hunting and was a member of the North Boroughs Sportsman Club. After retiring he served several years as a Kilbuck Township Supervisor. He enjoyed large Sunday dinners with his family, which he often cooked. He is very much loved by his family and will be terribly missed.
