Christine Lane Obituary

Christine (Chrissy) Lenore Lane
Christine Lane age 50, of Ben Avon, Pennsylvania, died early in the morning on Tuesday, December 27th, 2022. She passed peacefully with her family at her side. Christine was born on June 7, 1972 in Key West, Florida and raised in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio by grandparents Anna J. and Rondel H. Lane, who raised her as if she were one of their own children.  Chrissy was very close to her uncle and aunts, who also treated her like their sister. She often and fondly recounted crazy adventures with her older sister Stephanie, and late cousin Joey, while growing up.
Christine attended Cuyahoga Falls High School and later obtained her GED after taking some time off to care for and raise her beloved first daughter, Carissa.  While working as a waitress, she put herself through college and graduated from Kent State University with a degree in computing.  She then built an amazing career as one of the few female IT professionals in her field.  Her amazing work experience led her become Senior Systems Administrator at PNC Bank.  Chrissy always regarded this as her dream job and valued the professional support and recognition she received from PNC, whom she considered to be her favorite employer. Chrissy enjoyed a broad array of music, from Depeche Mode and Ministry to Al Green and Grand Funk Railroad.  Indeed, her life was the ultimate soundtrack.  She was fiercely loyal to her family, would not suffer bullies, and felt a deep connection to animals, especially birds.  If you see a robin, think of her.
Chrissy could accomplish anything she put her mind to. She enthusiastically taught herself whatever struck her fancy, even learning computer coding within three months. She was wickedly smart.
But her proudest accomplishment was being a mother and grandmother, and life-time partner to husband Steven Heldt, the love of her life.  For thirty years, Chrissy and Steve propped up and supported each other while working hard jobs for long hours, spending late nights studying while both were attending college.  They endured living in public housing, then rentals, and then finally buying their dream home after years of hard work.  Together, they raised Carissa to adulthood, then decided to be parents all over again with the birth of their beloved son Xavier, who is now 12 years-old. Christine is survived by husband Steven Heldt, children Carissa Glass (James Mckenith), Xavier Heldt, sisters Stephanie Lane (Bob Ignizio), Candy Bradbury (William), brother Joesef Slaughter, aunt Sharon Ramsey (Fred), and Renee Santin (Jim), grandchildren Lathaniel and Ezekiel Mckenith, nephews Vincent Ignizio, Christian Bradbury, Tyler Bradbury, and niece Brittany Bradbury, and cousins Rick and Ron Carter, and Christine Santin.
Christine is proceeded in death by her grandparents Anna and Rondel Lane, sister Lisa Lane, aunt Elizabeth (Bethy) Lane, uncle John (“Johnny”) Lane, uncle Fred Ramsey, aunt Genie Davidson (Renato Carrasco), aunt Ann Carter (Alan), and dearly-missed and gone-too-soon cousin Josef Kostelenski.
