Ralph Glenwood “Glen” Fitch IV, 53, Glen Fitch, 53, of Pittsburgh passed away peacefully at home on September 6, 2021.
Glen was born on May 19, 1968 in Maryland to parents Elizabeth “Betty” Fitch and Ralph Glenwood Fitch III, of Pittsburgh. He spent his years residing in Pittsburgh and Maryland-DC area. Known then as Bubba, he spent his formative years in Glenfield, graduating from Quaker Valley High School in 1987. His beloved first wife, Michelle “Talia” Ringo, passed away in 2005. He worked for DB Consulting Group of Silver Spring, Md. for 17 years.
Lucky enough to find love again with an old friend in 2013, and married Mikele Ann Galbraith in 2018. The couple moved to Pittsburgh in 2019.
He was a giant in both personality and stature. He was known for his humor and quick wit. An incredible wordsmith, he crafted humorous poems and songs with ease and for any occasion, both celebratory and with scathing, delightful insults.
Staring as a teen, he spent many years participating and in leadership roles in the fully-armored medieval-style combat groups known as the Tuchux, where he went by the moniker Minimal Graypanther. He commanded attention and respect for his size and skill on the battlefield, and was a feared opponent.
Glen could make things happen, his generous spirit led him to help those around him whenever he could. He encouraged others to set goals and did what he could to help them be achieved. He was fiercely loyal to the ones he loved and those lucky enough to call him a friend.
A simple weeknight dinner would turn into an event talked of for weeks. A talented cook, he spent many hours cooking meals to deliver to ailing friends and family.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Mikele Ann Galbraith, mother Elizabeth “Betty” Fitch, of Avalon; his father Ralph Glenwood Fitch III of Sewickley. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Michelle “Talia” Ringo, sister Elizabeth “Liz” Hudspeth, and nephew William Hudspeth.
