Age of 59, of Glenshaw, passed away unexpectedly on February 6, 2017. Born on June 27, 1957, in Summit, NJ, he grew up in Ben Avon. After graduating Avonworth High School in 1975, he earned a degree in business at the University of Wyoming, Laramie. He worked for many years at Michael Baker Co. as a government contractor and conducted several assignments overseas. After working overseas, his passion for travel was unrelenting, keeping him continuously planning trips that would inspire his own daughter’s passion for travel. As a proud Penguins fan, he was overjoyed to share his passion for the game and teach his wife and daughter the love of the sport. Fred remained politically active throughout his life and loved to discuss government and social issues on Internet sites, at family gatherings and whenever and wherever people would listen. He loved a good story, and entertained his friends and foes alike with his comments on the news, and his gruff voice carried far and wide. A lifelong hunter also, he spent many happy hours at the log cabin that he built with his parents and siblings along the Clarion River. His lifelong dream was to ensure that his daughter and family would maintain the family cabin for future generations. He is survived by his wife, Allison; daughter, Kelly; mother, Ruth; four sisters, Kathryn Trent of Emsworth, Kristin Toberman (David) of Oak Island, NC, Gretchen McKay (Peter) of Ben Avon, Rosemary Stoner (Daniel) of Bethesda, MD; two brothers, George Trent (Debra) of Loxley, AL, and Tom (Victoria) of Tucker, GA; three sisters-in-law, Marilou Protulipac (Albert) of Ross, Elaine Morman (Paul) of Kettering, OH, and Karen Paquette (Steve) of Lakeland, FL; two brothers-in-law, Dale Visokey (Kim) of Winnetka, IL and Paul Visokey (Carol) of Philadelphia, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
